About

I started my journey into astrophotography at the start of 2020 and has been a steep leaning curve, but enjoyable.

I live in the UK, which as many people will know poses a instant challenge – the weather, but this has afforded me plenty of time to read up and watch most of the astrophotography videos YouTube has to offer.

I get outside whenever I can and thanks to my Astro Shed, my gear remains in a state of being almost instantly deployable.

I currently have 2 setups,

1. SkyWatcher EQ6-R Pro, SkyWatcher Esprit 120 and ZWO ASI 533

A fairly heavy duty setup which I roll in and out of my shed – its a Sky Watcher EQ6-R Pro mount and the 120mm Skywatcher Esprit 120 telescope. I use a ZWO ASI 533 MC-Pro dedicated astrophotography One Shot Colour camera. For acquisition I use the ASIAir linked to a laptop.

2. iOptron 25P, WO Z61 and ZWO ASI 183

A more portable iOptron 25P mount – I use this with my William Optics Zenithstar 61 telescope with the Flat61R Flattner. Camera wise I use my ZWO 183 MC-Pro. For acquisition I use the ASIAir and an Ipad.
